In what has been an uncharacteristically down year for Pac-12 basketball, the Pac-12 Tournament in Las Vegas could be a completely bananas affair.

There hasn’t been a lot of attention paid to Pac-12 hoops this season, and that is because it frankly hasn’t been very good. There is one strong team in the league, Washington (24-7, 15-3), which clinched the regular season title a while ago and should make the field even if it doesn’t win the conference tournament.

Aside from the Huskies, the only other team with a shot at an at-large bid appears to be no. 2 seed Arizona State (21-9, 12-6), which has a strong win over Kansas on its resume to go along with several baffling losses. Everyone else pretty much needs to win the tournament in Las Vegas to go dancing.

Let’s start with Washington’s half of the bracket, with the Huskies scheduled to tip off on Thursday against winner of the 8-9 game between USC (15-16, 8-10) and Arizona (17-14, 8-10). The other side of Washington’s draw features no. 4 seed Oregon State (18-12, 10-8), which awaits the winner of the 5-12 matchup, either Colorado (19-11, 10-8) or California (8-22, 3-15).

Arizona State is the top seed on the other side of the bracket, and they will begin their tournament Thursday night, when they take on the winner of the 7-10 game between UCLA (16-15, 9-9) and Stanford (15-15, 8-10). The no. 3 seed in the Pac-12 tournament is Utah (17-13, 11-7), and they await the winner of a 6-11 showdown featuring Oregon (19-12, 10-8) and Washington State (11-20, 4-14).

If there is one team poised to play spoiler in the Pac-12, it very well could be the Ducks. Oregon had high pre-season expectations before losing big man Bol Bol (son of Manute) for the year, but the Ducks ended the regular season on a four game winning streak, including victories over both Arizona State and Washington.

The Pac-12 tournament begins on Wednesday, March 13 and concludes with the championship game on Saturday, March 16. The majority of the games will be televised on the Pac-12 network, but ESPN will cover late night games in the quarters and semis before broadcasting the championship game.
