2019 Big Ten football spring preview: 7 biggest questions – Finally Jim Harbaugh’s year?
1. How will the spring favorite, Ohio State, handle offseason changes during the Spring?
Ohio State will be facing many a change after falling short of a College Playoff Birth last season in their final year with Urban Meyer as Head of the program, and potential first-round pick Dwayne Haskins under center.
Despite this, the Buckeyes put together a solid showing that culminated in a Big Ten Championship and a Rose Bowl victory over the No. 9 Washington Huskies. All this ahead of their first spring under new head coach Ryan Day, who was announced as the head coach with the direct recommendation from the out-going Urban Meyer.
The question remains, however, to how the Big Ten’s spring favorite will handle the changes in Day’s first season in charge. The Buckeyes lost key players like Haskins, possible No. 1 pick Joey Bosa, and key players in Parris Campbell and so many others.
That said, the answer will come short and sweet, but most importantly to the Buckeye faithful, it’ll come straight to the point.
Ohio State also has the luxury of being one of the best recruiting schools in the Big Ten thanks to an incredible history of program success. Though with every coaching change there are bound to be a few changes, I don’t think there can be anything so drastic that will stop Ohio State from having yet another successful season in the Big Ten East.
Day’s tenure should come smoothly, and spring ball should show that in a fairly clear way.
