Liberty Flames forward Scottie James performed, what may be perceived, as the greatest flop anyone has ever seen, college or pro.

Looking back on basketball history, we’ve been on the front row to some grand flops; but none tops what we found on Twitter.

Late in the second half of the Atlantic Sun Championship game pitting rivals the Liberty Flames (yes, Liberty University has a basketball team) and the Lipscomb Bisons, Liberty forward Scottie James displayed, what many may believe, is the greatest flop of all freakin’ time.

College or pro.

After grabbing an offensive rebound, James hung up in the air like Micheal Jordan and falling to the floor, but not before putting back the missed shot to give Liberty a 65-64 lead with 2:16 to go in the game.

As James was trying to get up, Lipscomb’s Michael Buckland appeared to run into James, sending the Liberty forward flying back to the floor as if he was in a WWE ring. To top it off, James got up, got red, and tried to go after Buckland, with his teammates having to hold him back.

Now, as you can see above, you’d be ready to fight too if the opposing player did a Stone Cold Steve Austin-like move, but on the replay, it clearly showed that Buckland didn’t even land a finger on James. As he was trying to get up, James “assaulted” himself and tried to knock himself out.

Apparently, James was upset at the refs on the no-call on his put back, so, in order to get the refs attention, he summoned all of the teachings of his drama class, and flopped like the world would end tomorrow. Amazingly, James was able to sell the flop, giving Vlade Divac a run for his money.

Oh, and if you were wondering, Liberty won the Atlantic Sun tournament and punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
