Warriors fans are clearly letting the team down, and not the other way around

In his post-game interview, Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson kind of called out the fans for their lack of energy.

There are a number of firsts happening for the Golden State Warriors this season, and none really for the better.

This is the first season (of the Steve Kerr era) that they’ve lost double-digit home games in a season (10). It’s the first in which the Warriors brass may be calling out Draymond Green’s antics in public; and, it’s the first that we’ve heard Warriors players calling out their fan base.

That last one deserves some context.

In his post-game interview with the media following an absolute disgusting loss to the last-place Phoenix Suns, Klay Thompson kind of called out Warriors fans, saying that they need to bring the energy “from the jump,” not when they’re trying to make a comeback against one of the worst teams in the Association.

Yep, that sounds like Thompson calling out Warriors fans for their perceived “lack of energy,” because it’s the fan’s fault that they didn’t have any energy against the 16-52 Suns.

Yea, it’s their fault, darn it!

So, how does this issue get resolved? Well, as Klay says it, all the fans need to do is bring the energy “from the jump,” and they’ll be fine; but, I there may be another solution that might do the trick for the ailing Warriors — stop playing to your opponent’s level.

The Warriors don’t need for the fans to “bring it from the jump” in order for them to play with some passion in front of their home fans. If they truly needed energy from the fans to win, then how about they start playing like the two-time defending champions to get their fans excited.

It’s not the fans’ fault that the Warriors are suddenly vulnerable at home. Give them something to cheer about “from the jump.”
