BREAKING: Odell Beckham Jr. Traded to Browns
Odell Beckham Jr. was dealt to the Browns. We have been hearing all offseason that Beckham was available, then all of a sudden he was not.
It has been back and forth for the past few weeks. But now, it is official. Odell Beckham Jr. is now a member of the Cleveland Browns. WOW! As first reported by Mike Garafolo on Twitter.
This trade alone makes the Browns’ offense extremely appealing. Skill players such as Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, Antonio Calloway, David Njoku, and now…Odell Beckham Jr.. This is arguably now the most explosive offense in the NFL as a whole.
Does that mean Baker Mayfield is locked into the discussion of being a QB1 in Fantasy Football? Without a doubt. NFFC currently had Mayfield’s ADP as the 12th quarterback off the board. This move alone should threaten to put him right up inside the top five QB’s when it’s all said and done.
Mayfield was producing from the start and had a very impressive rookie season. Through 14 games, Mayfield had three games over 300 yards and threw for 27 touchdowns. With the duo of OBJ and Jarvis Landry, Mayfield is in a prime spot to succeed. He will be a hot commodity when drafts roll around this summer.
We can also make the case that this will be the best quarterback play that Beckham has had his entire career. Sure, Eli Manning was good, but the situation itself was never the best. Now with so many other pieces around Beckham, he will not garner as much attention as he is used to. His stock is shooting right back up. See trade details below:
It may seem like a lot to give up for some, but the Browns are the winner in this one. The Giants selected Beckham with the 13th overall selection back in 2014 and struck gold. Still just 26-years-old, too. Isn’t it crazy what can happen in a two year span?
