Big Ten Tournament: Michigan State vs. Ohio State live stream, score, start time, TV channel
After surviving a battle with Indiana, Ohio State looks to improve their chances of an at-large bid by beating Michigan State in the Big Ten Tournament.
The return of big man Kaleb Wesson came at a great time for Ohio State. The Buckeyes limped down the stretch, losing all three games that Wesson was suspended, but they were able to reverse their fortunes with a huge 79-75 win over Indiana yesterday.
Wesson was a monster for Ohio State in the contest, racking up 17 points and 13 rebounds to help the Buckeyes get a win they desperately needed. Ohio State is still squarely on the bubble, but they can move a lot closer to getting off of it with a win over the Big Ten’s top seed in the quarterfinals today.
That top seed is Michigan State, which clinched the regular season title by completing a sweep of Michigan last Saturday. The Spartans have a ton to play for as well since combining the regular season title with a tournament victory could put Michigan State in line for a no. 1 seed on Selection Sunday.
Tom Izzo’s team is also expected to get a big piece back today with forward Nick Ward slated to return from a hand issue. Ward has been out since sustaining a break in his left hand that required surgery, and while he may play limited minutes the fact that the Spartans are getting anything out of Ward is huge.
The Spartans swept both meetings with Ohio State in the regular season. If the trend continues, Ohio State will have to spend the next two days sweating out their fate.
