Welcome back readers of FantasyCPR, DraftKings is offering a free roll contest today that is giving away a free $500 to first place. This contest is completely different than what we are used to in terms of NBA DFS contest that DraftKings offers.

The rules are simple, you construct a lineup of five utility players, within the NBA DFS salary cap. For the scoring, in this contest you are reward 3-points for every 3-pointer that your player makes. No bonuses are awarded.

Player Pool:

James Harden, v. PHO ($14,500)

Harden has been brutal from the three point line over the last five games, shooting 14-56 (25%). However, Harden is capable of hitting double digit three pointers at any point and I believe this game sets up decently for him to hit at least six 3-pointers.

In this contest, instead of targeting three point percentage, we need to center our research around attempts. I am locking Harden into my lineup in this contest. Price is steep, but I am not having much difficulty fitting him into my lineup.

Buddy Hield, @PHI ($12,600)

Hield can shoot and that seems to be all he does is volume shooting. 10, 9, 13, 9, 8 those are his 3-point attempts over the last 5 games. Hield is a 43.6% 3-point shooter over the course of the season and he has hit 227 3-pointers.

Philadelphia doesn’t allow that many three point attempts a game, allowing the 3rd least attempts in the league on three pointers attempts. However, ignore that number and focus on Hield’s three-point attempts. Play him!

Eric Gordon, v. PHO ($10,800)

The Rockets headline my article today, I love Eric Gordon today in this format. Gordon has played 30-plus minutes in 9 of the last 10 games and is averaging 9.6 3-point attempts per game over that span. Also, Gordon has been on fire from the three point line over this last 10 game span, shooting 45% from the 3-point line.

Bobby Portis, v. CHA ($6,200)

Portis is an interesting play on this slate to me because although he is not a volume three point shooter, he destroys Charlotte. Before Portis got traded to Washington for Chicago, he hit 4  3-pointers on eight attempts against this same Charlotte team. Pace up game, coming off a game where he failed to hit any three pointers. This should be a bounce back spot for him in this match-up.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, @DET ($5,500)

Since, LeBron James was put on a minutes limit and Brandon Ingram being ruled out for the rest of the season, Caldwell-Pope has been playing more and he has been shooting more. LeBron James is going to be out tonight, probably pushing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope into the starting lineup, where he will be shooting in an arena that he spent a good portion of his young career.

For simply $5,500, Caldwell-Pope should see between 8-10 three point attempts, rating him out as the best value play on the slate.

Josh Hart, @DET ($4,700)

If you need a cheaper option than KCP, we can target Josh Hart on tonight’s slate as well. I do like the fact that Josh Hart is hovering around 30 minutes and game and with LeBron James out, he should be able to get some more run, along with some more shot attempts.

Josh Hart is a hot-and-cold three point shooter. Some nights he is on and he can hit 5 three points, but majority of nights, he’s going to miss the first couple and he might only settle for one made three pointer.

Best of luck tonight! Enjoy the other content that FantasyCPR offers. We cover a large range of NBA DFS content, and  for a large range of all sports.
