Welcome to NHL DFS Man Advantage for Friday night March 15th! Tonight we have a 6 game slate that is not the best slate I’ve seen recently. We get teams like Toronto and Calgary but the big matchup feel isn’t here in my opinion. This also seems like it has the makings of a low scoring slate with only one game with more than 6 projected goals, but ironically, the goaltending position seems somewhat barren.

Tonight’s NHL DFS Schedule:

Philadelphia @ Toronto

Projected Goal Total: 6.5

Carolina @ Columbus

Projected Goal Total: 6

Vegas @ Dallas

Projected Goal Total: 5.5

NY Rangers @ Calgary

Projected Goal Total: 6

Anaheim @ Colorado

Projected Goal Total: 5.5

New Jersey @ Vancouver

Projected Goal Total: 6

NHL DFS Goalies:

As I wrote in the open, goaltending is pretty weak tonight for me. My top choice is Marc-Andre Fleury ($7,600) on the road in Dallas. Vegas is sitting in Dallas for the Stars to get back from Minnesota after last nights game, so it’s almost like a home for the Golden Knights. Flower has won 5 straight starts allowing just 4 goals, including 2 shutouts and a win over Dallas.

Both Jacob Markstrom ($7,900) and Cory Schneider ($7,200) (assuming he plays) are in play tonight against each other (see I told you the goaltending position was barren). Both goalies are not top end talents, but neither of their teams are setting the world on fire in scoring. Both teams rank in the bottom third of the league in goals scored and both average around 30 shots per game.

Whoever gets the nod for the Avalanche is a minimal play. Neither goalie has been that good, but they are playing Anaheim on the second night of a back to back, so there is a chance for a win tonight with Colorado.

Laslty, Frederik Andersen ($8,200) and Davis Rittich ($8,300) are viable, but neither has been playing great of late.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – FEBRUARY 28: Mark Stone #61 of the Vegas Golden Knights takes a break during a stop in play in the third period of a game against the Florida Panthers at T-Mobile Arena on February 28, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. NHL DFS Top Forwards:

Top Tier:

Johnny Gaudreau ($7,300) – For Tuesday’s article I said Gaudreau and the rest of line one needed to get going, and they listened. Gaudreau finally stepped up and picked 6 points (3 goals 3 assists) and 20.5 DKFP. In 1 game against the Rangers this season Johnny Hockey picked up 2 goals.

Mark Stone ($6,800) – It took Stone 5 games to get his first goal for Vegas, but he now has goals in back to back games, and 4 point in his last three games (2 goals 2 assists). Stone plays on the Golden Knights 2nd line with Max Pacioretty and Paul Stastny, as well as on the team’s top PP unit with members of the team’s top line.

Mid Tier:

Brock Boeser ($6,200) – Boeser has points in 4 straight games for the Canucks with 2 goals and 3 assists. New Jersey allows the most goals per game to Western Conference teams, allowing 3.77 GA/G average, and allowed 12 goals in their last 2 games to Western Conference teams.

Artemi Panarin ($5,800)/Matt Duchene ($5,700) – Duchene only has 2 goals and 3 assists for the Blue Jackets since being acquired from Ottawa, and Panarin only has 1 goal and 6 assists since Duchene arrived. They both need to turn their games on if the Blue Jackets plan on making the playoffs.

Jakob Silfverberg ($4,800) – Currently on a 6 game point streak (Thursday not included since I am writing this while the game is ongoing) Silfverberg has 4 goals and 4 assists during his streak as well as 9 shots on goal and averaging over 18 minutes per game.

Value Tier:

Blake Coleman ($4,300) – Coleman has goals in 3 straight games for the Devils, his longest stretch of the season. Playing on the top line with Travis Zajac and Kyle Palmieri, this line is the Devils only real quality line, though another line has started playing well (see line stacks)

William Nylander ($3,700) – While Kasperi Kapanen is out injured, Nylander should continue to play with Auston Matthews which makes him an extremely great value play.

UNIONDALE, NEW YORK – MARCH 09: Ryan Hartman #38 of the Philadelphia Flyers celebrates his goal at 15:20 of the first period against the New York Islanders and is joined by Ivan Provorov #9 at NYCB Live’s Nassau Coliseum on March 09, 2019 in Uniondale, New York. NHL DFS Top Defensemen:

Top Tier:

Ivan Provorov ($5,200) – Provorov is averaging 3.4 DKFP per game in his last 5 games despite only picking up 1 goal and 1 assist. During this 5 game span it’s the peripherals for Provorov that has been getting him his points with 11 shots on goal and 13 blocked shots.

Other Options: Damon Severson ($4,400), Tyson Barrie ($5,800)

Value Tier:

Nikita Zaitsev ($3,300) – With 2 assists and an average of 2.75 DKFP per game Zaitsev is a good value play and over the last 10 games Zaitsev is seeing a 1 minute per game average more than his season average.

Other Options: Will Butcher ($3,100), Rasmus Andersson ($3,100)

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA – OCTOBER 22: Mikko Rantanen #96 of the Colorado Avalanche celebrates his empty net goal against the Philadelphia Flyers and is joined by Nathan MacKinnon #29 at the Wells Fargo Center on October 22, 2018 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. NHL DFS Line Stacks:

My top line stack tonight is the Avalanche’s top PP unit. Colorado has a 22.4 PP % on the season and are taking on Anaheim who is the third most penalized team in the league.

More from FanSided

DERICK BRASSARD
NATHAN MACKINNON
JT COMPHER
TYSON BARRIE
MIKKO RANTANEN

And even though Anaheim doesn’t have a great PP, they are taking the Avalanche who is the most penalized team in the league, so you could consider them for value if you want.

Philadelphia is allowing 3.29 G/PG and it goes up to 3.41 per game on the road making the Maple Leafs top line another great stack. It looks like Zach Hyman should be healthy for this game and be back in his place on Toronto 1

ZACH HYMAN
JOHN TAVARES
MITCH MARNER

Other Line Stacks:

New Jersey 2 (Value)

Philadelphia 1 and PP 1

Carolina 1

Anaheim 2

Vancouver 2

Calgary 2

NHL DFS Core Plays:

I am starting my build tonight with the Colorado PP I mentioned above with MacKinnon and Rantanen, and then add in Auston Matthews and Nylander. Looking to get some value I want Zaitsev on D and Blake Coleman on the wing. In net I am using Marc-Andre Fleury. This core will leave you with $4,500 per player for one defensemen and your utility spot.
