It’s not long now until Us, Jordan Peele’s follow-up to instant horror classic Get Out, hits cinemas. But what is the exact release date and when can you see it soonest?

The hype train for Jordan Peele’s Us has officially left the station and is currently barrelling right towards you. After a series of awesome trailers that promised some genuinely twisted imagery and frights, the finished film finally debuted at South by Southwest on March 9.

It received a rapturous reception by an audience that included several prominent African-American artists, including Ryan Coogler, Janelle Monae, John Legend and Lakeith Stanfield. Social media posts after screening indicate that the audience was bowled over, which is reflected by the film currently sitting at an impressive perfect 100 percent on the Tomatometer with 52 reviews. So when can you see it first?

The official release date is Friday, March 22 – so as of writing that’s next Friday.

However, if you’re desperate to see the movie, there are preview screenings in major cities one day before the official release, on Thursday, March 21. These are taking place in most multiplex cinema, so I’d recommend checking out your local listings on Fandango.

If you’re feeling even luckier, there are various ‘advanced’ screenings taking place on 18, 19 and 20 March, but getting into these might require entering a draw and hoping you’re selected. I can’t speak for the whole nation, but there seem to be various local competitions going on, so if you search for advanced screenings in your area you might get lucky.

Whatever the case, all current indications are that Jordan Peele has done it again and repeated the incredible success of Get Out. Only time will tell if Us can truly replicate that film’s iconic status, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see this getting some serious attention come awards season.
