The NCAA Tournament odds are out to win the national championship and Duke is the betting favorite to win March Madness. But how should you bet?

March Madness is the time when college basketball fans get decked out in their team gear and trick themselves into believing, their team has the best odds to win.

But, do they really though?

Well, to answer that question, we have to take a virtual trip to Las Vegas, the land of jumping for joy over winning money, and cry like a baby when losing it. To get a sense about how great the odds are for each team to take home the National Championship, we turned to Odds Shark and their team odds may come as a surprise to some.

Odds to win the National Championship

  • Duke: +225
  • Gonzaga: +600
  • Virginia: +800
  • Michigan: +1000
  • Kentucky: +1200
  • UNC: +1200
  • Michigan State: +1200
  • Tennessee: +1400
  • Auburn: +2000
  • Houston: +2500
  • Nevada: +2500
  • Purdue: +2500
  • Texas Tech: +2500
  • Florida: +3300
  • Iowa State: +3300
  • LSU: +3300
  • Villanova: +3300
  • Kansas: +4000
  • Virginia Tech: +4000

Duke, featuring the high-flying sensation Zion Williamson and the Tracy McGrady-like R.J. Barrett, is the team to beat in this year’s edition of the Tournament. Virginia, which will have a lot (and I mean, A LOT) to prove, should rely on their defense to get them on a roll.

Some may question why Gonzaga has such high odds, judging that they play in a weak conference; but that team has an offense that not even Jesus could stop. As long as John Calipari is coaching them, Kentucky will always have favorable odds, and despite losing to Duke in the ACC Tournament, UNC should be a lock to go on a long run in the Tournament.

Put it all together, and this should be a go-to guide for those who are looking to make a small fortune on March Madness.
