March Madness 2019 is upon us and NCAA women’s hoops fans are here for it. We have all of the dates for the NCAA women’s basketball tournament right here.
Championship Week has come to an end and it’s time for college hoops fans to set their sights on March Madness. The 2019 NCAA women’s basketball tournament is set to get underway on Friday, March 22, following the Selection Show on Monday, March 18.
The women’s basketball NCAA tournament bracket will be revealed during the Selection Show, which will air at 7:00 PM ET on March 18 on ESPN.
First Round action takes place March 22-23, followed by the Round of 32 in the Second Round March 24-25. These games will be played on campus sites as determined by the NCAA championship committee and schools that express interest in hosting the events.
Regional action begins with the Sweet 16 on March 29-30. Albany and Portland Sweet 16 games will be played on Friday, March 29 while Chicago and Greensboro Sweet 16 games will play on Saturday, March 30. Elite Eight action follows immediately afterward, with Albany and Portland Elite Eight games playing on March 29 and Chicago and Greensboro games playing on April 1.
The 2019 Women’s Final Four and National Championship games will take place at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. The Final Four is Friday, April 5 and the National Championship is Sunday, April 7.
The women’s tournament field is already taking shape with several of the usual suspects already in possession of automatic qualifier bids, including Baylor, Notre Dame, UConn and Mississippi State. Other teams that have already punched their tickets at their conference tournaments include Mercer, Abilene Christian, Southern, South Dakota State, Boise State, New Mexico State and BYU.
