March Madness 2019: 10 teams that will bust your bracket
No. 4: Iowa Hawkeyes
This Hawkeyes team has been on fire as according to whether or not their three pointers are finding net. We’ve seen them shoot lights out on several occasions, leading to some of their more point-heavy outings. Especially at home, Iowa has had the opportunity to torture opposing offenses.
That being said, March Madness doesn’t care for home court advantage, and if these Iowa shooters can’t keep up, they could make an early exit if they fail to control the rebounding game.
Led by top scorers Tyler Cook, Luke Garza and Jordan Bohannon, the Hawkeyes were perhaps unlucky to draw an impressive Cincinnati Bearcats team in the first round. If their shooters struggle in their opening-round game, they might not make it out of the opening round.
They also have drawn a particularly tough region. In addition to fellow Big Ten teams in Purdue and Wisconsin, Villanova and Tennessee also look closely around the Iowa team.
One way or another, Friday’s bracket-opening matchup between a team of impressive deep-ball shooters and rebounders in the Hawkeyes, and an impressive overall team in the Bearcats, should be an excellent indicator for both of these teams going forward.
