WWE fans can take comfort that the Phenomenal One will be staying with the company for a while. AJ Styles has signed a new contract with WWE.

It took AJ Styles a while to make his way to WWE, but he’s ready to extend his stay with the world’s most popular wrestling promotion. He took to social media on Monday to casually announce the news that he’s signed a new contract with the company.

It typical Styles style, he told fans of his decision to introduce a puppy into his family before dropping the contract news. There’s nothing secondary about this development for WWE fans though. His decision to extend his run with the company is great news for fans of his innovative style in the ring.

It’s also terrific for WWE officials that are working hard to keep as much talent on the roster as possible. For example, Styles’ old running mates from the Club, Kyle Anderson and Luke Gallows will both be leaving the company at the end of their current contracts. That might not seem like a big loss to some fans, but it’s symbolic of how the WWE is struggling to maintain its monopoly on wrestling talent against smaller promotions.

WWE’s financial might still does allow them a huge advantage when negotiating with top-tier talents like Styles. Rival promotions like AEW would have loved to tempt him to leave the mainstream company, but it’s very likely the money was simply too good for Styles to pass up.

Styles’ decision to commit his future to the company also should improve his odds of defeating Randy Orton at WrestleMania. If his future had remained unclear, WWE officials might have elected to give Orton the win because of their certainty that he’d stay put. Now the odds for the match should swing even further in Styles’ favor.

More importantly, Styles’ commitment to stay with WWE opens up a number of interesting opportunities for him down the line. He could be a guy who is counted on to help make SmackDown‘s transition to FOX a commercial success. That would be a major accomplishment for a guy who spent the bulk of his career with TNA before finally breaking through to the WWE in 2016.

dark. Next. The "Demon King" could return at WrestleMania 35

The bottom line is that WWE fans still have plenty of Phenomenal Forearms in their future and Styles will see a lot more green.
