5 best NBA Draft prospects in the NCAA Tournament
By Ian Levy
The NCAA Tournament is the perfect place to meet the next crop of future stars. Here are the best NBA Draft prospects in the tourney.
5. Coby White, Guard, North Carolina
White has great size for a point guard and his transition scoring ability and strong pull-up shooting make him one of the better guard prospects in an otherwise shaky class. White averaged 16.3 points, 4.2 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game for the Tar Heels this season, shooting 36.0 percent on nearly seven 3-point attempts per game.
White’s 6-foot-5 frame should help him compensate for average vertical athleticism against NBA defenders and he has proven he can be a dynamic decision-maker in the open court. The most intriguing part of White’s profile is his ability to shoot off the dribble but he’ll need to prove he can finish effectively around the basket if he’s going to be a dangerous three-level scorer at the next level.
UNC is a No. 1 seed and one of the handful of teams with a significant chance of winning it all. He could be around until the tournament’s final weekend, giving him lots of chances to raise his profile.
