DraftKings EuroLeague Basketball Picks March 19

We have our last dual round week of the EuroLeague season just in time for the NCAA Tournament! This promises to be an exciting week in the EuroLeague. Most of the stars are out tomorrow and Friday, but there is still some good stuff here on Tuesday!

More from DFS

Joffrey Lauvergne, Vassilis Spanoulis, Tyler Ennis, Nikola Ivanovic, Aleksa Ilic, Luke Nelson, Eulis Baez, and Mikhail Kulagin are all out today.

Leading the ranks of the questionable is Nando de Colo. If he plays, I would at least consider him against Efes. We also have to keep an eye on the status of Stefan Jovic, Adam Hanga, Xavier Rabaseda, Dino Hackett, Janis Strelnieks, Pau Ribas, and Danilo Nikolic. That’s a lot of players that could alter today’s slate.

The rotations can be frustrating sometimes as more players see the court than in your average NBA game. The games themselves are also shorter, playing four ten minute quarters as opposed to 12 minutes in the NBA. The court is smaller, the lane is bigger, and the three point line is closer, but the action is still what you would expect from world class basketball!

For DraftKings EuroLeague, we can’t expect 5x value like in the NBA. Most winning lineups are around 180-200 DraftKings points, which is around 3.5 – 4x value.

DraftKings EuroLeague Guards:

Kostas Sloukas is the highest priced guard with the best matchup, but he was a non-factor in the first meeting with Podgorica. I think I would rather flip to the other side and use Norris Cole, or just ignore the top tier all together. The only way I pay five figures for a guard is if Nando de Colo is held out. Sergio Rodriguez puts up big numbers with Nando out.

Shane Larkin has been outstanding lately, but I really don’t like this matchup. CSKA has really good guards regardless of the status of de Colo. On paper, Thomas Huertel looks like the better option, but his inconsistency is maddening. On top of that, Gran Canaria is playing well now that they are getting healthy.

Nihad Dedovic finally seems to be free of the sore back that bothered him for much of the last three weeks. This is a good matchup against Olympiacos, and a good enough reason to fade the upper tier.

Ali Muhammad and Clevin Hannah provide some consistency in this tier, but the lack of upside makes them better suited for cash games. Marko Guduric has a better floor, more upside, and he’s cheaper.

Spanoulis has already been ruled out again, so it’s all systems go on Briante Weber. Weber wont put up big numbers, but he is going to get your between 2.5 and 3x value. Weber is a really good play here.

Maodo Lo will get you somewhere between 11 and 18 DraftKings points. That’s about as certain as things get in the EuroLeague, especially for value picks. Petteri Koponen will provide you with about the same.

I really like Kevin Pangos here if Adam Hanga is ruled out. Melih Mahmutoglu is worth a look as well with Tyler Ennis still out.

DraftKings EuroLeague Forwards:

Will Clyburn mauled Efes in the first matchup with 43.25 DraftKings points, his highest total on the season. I wouldn’t expect a repeat of that here since Clyburn is automatic in the mid 20’s, but he may get to 30. That gives Clyburn top billing for me on this slate.

More from FanSided

Nikola Milutinov and Adrien Moerman are very good consolation prizes here. Milutinov was better in the first meeting with Munich than Moerman was against CSKA, but Moerman has been much better over the last 6-8 rounds. If you can afford both with Clyburn, it may not be a bad idea. If I only use one, it will be Moerman.

Ante Tomic has 97.75 DraftKings points over the last three games, and he has the best matchup of anyone near the top. I could see Tomic being the highest scorer on the slate, especially if Hanga is out. If Hanga plays, I like Tomic quite a bit less.

I like Jan Vesely and Danilo Barthel, but I don’t really trust either one of them here. Nicolo Melli is a much better pick.

Jacob Wiley is averaging 20.3 DraftKings points over his three EuroLeague games this year. This is probably his best matchup here against Barcelona. We could see a breakout if you are willing to take the chance on Wiley here. Othello Hunter is the pick if you want to be safer or go with a CSKA stack.

I really like Goga Bitadze at this price, but I think I need to see a big game from him again before I take the leap. Podgorica still isn’t really turning him loose. Marcus Eriksson is the far safer pick, but we have seen the massive upside of Bitadze.

Georgios Printezis continues to be one of the most consistent mid range plays you can get your hands on. This isn’t like the NBA. Consistency almost always cashes you in GPP’s. Printezis and Chris Singleton are both very solid plays.

I really like Kyle Hines and Luigi Datome for the price too. You only need them depending on how you decide to build. If you spend big on a couple of forwards or at guard, you’ll need a couple of these picks. If you go balanced, you probably only need one. In that case, go with Hines.

Kostas Papanikolaou is still one of the better value plays out there. He is almost never below double digits. Victor Claver is about the same, yet his price almost never goes up! There are at least a dozen forwards I would play today. There are strong plays at ever tier, which is pretty unusual.
