2019 NFL mock draft: Giants trade up for Dwayne Haskins
By Brad Weiss
The Denver Broncos officially welcomed in their new quarterback last week, as their trade with the Baltimore Ravens for Joe Flacco became official. In Flacco, Denver has themselves a Super Bowl winning quarterback, although Flacco has looked nothing like that since the team held up the Lombardi Trophy in what seems like ages ago.
To make room for Flacco, the Broncos traded away Case Keenum, who they brought in last offseason to be their answer at quarterback. This is a position that has been in flux since Peyton Manning decided to retire, and the hope is Flacco can bring some stability, even if it is in the short-term.
With the No. 10 overall pick, John Elway and his staff may look to bring in the long-term answer at the position, and they have been enamored with Drew Lock from Missouri. Lock struggled with accuracy during his time with the Tigers, but he can make every throw, and actually finished out his career as one of the better quarterbacks in the best conference in college football.
Denver re-signed Emmanuel Sanders this offseason, and they have some solid young weapons on offense in running back Phillip Lindsay and wide receiver Courtland Sutton. This is a team that is going to be much-improved next season, as they have an elite defense still, but the question remains who will lead this team under center for the next decade. Maybe it is Lock.
