College softball rankings – FanSided Top 25: Alabama keeps moving up
By Ethan Lee
The Alabama Crimson Tide softball team has moved up to No. 2 in the FanSided College Softball Top 25 as it remains undefeated.
The UCLA Bruins have the top-ranked college softball team in the country, but they’re not the most intriguing team at the moment. The Alabama Crimson Tide happens to still be undefeated and looks ready to continue climbing.
But, right now, there’s not much room for Alabama to continue climbing. The only team still in front of Crimson Tide happens to be UCLA. So, with UCLA at No. 1 and Alabama at No. 2, that means that Florida State, previously the No. 1 team here in the FanSided College Softball Top 25, has moved on down to No. 3.
Oklahoma checks in at No. 4 right now after leapfrogging the Washington Huskies. Texas Tech is the second-highest ranked Big 12 team here at No. 6.
Here’s what the college softball rankings look like so far:

Teams on the rise
Ole Miss, now at No. 16, has done a great job in recent weeks of putting together an impressive run. The Rebels are currently on a seven-game winning streak and just swept through Samford and Oklahoma State this past weekend.
The Indiana Hoosiers have made their way to No. 10 and could really make some interesting things happen in the Big Ten this season. Right now, Indiana has more wins than any other team from the Big Ten and could certainly challenge for the conference title this season.
Teams sliding down
The Georgia Bulldogs fell right out of the top 10 and all the way down to No. 19 as they lost their SEC opener series to a meddling, unranked Missouri Tigers team. The Tigers aren’t eligible for postseason play and even if they were, they may not qualify for it given the fact that they’re just two games over .500 at this point in the season.
But kudos to the Tigers, they got those two wins to get over .500 by beating the Georgia Bulldogs. That’s not good for Georgia, by the way.
