JuanBond back again with something new from FantasyCPR, and this time we will cover Daily Fantasy Golf for the contests available from our friends at Fantasy Draft!

Since I decided to morph the old DRAFT Daily Fantasy Golf article into a more universal power rankings piece, in addition to the standard FanDuel picks I do weekly, I will now provide for you the golfers I am targeting for contests on Fantasy Draft as well.

The infamous Picks and Pivots NBA and MLB articles here from site expert Brian Tulloch and FantasyCPR center around Fantasy Draft, and they really do have a unique platform, and offer a different DFS experience. If you still are not a part of the fun on Fantasy Draft, sign up here.

Really need a reason to join in? How about a FREE ROLL?

Get in on the Picks and Divots Free Roll with $50 up for grabs!

If you are new to Fantasy Draft be sure to check out the unique roster construction. Instead of picking six golfers as you do on most DFS sites, you pick seven, and your lowest golfers score is dropped.

If you are looking for course history information and just some general information about this event, be sure to check out my PGA Power Rankings for this week, released Monday night. Those rankings, along with some picks for FanDuel, can only be found right here at FantasyCPR on our Fantasy Golf page.

Daily Fantasy Golf: PGA Fantasy Draft Top Plays – The 2019 Valspar Championship

Dustin Johnson – $19,900

Well here I go again. My third article of the week, and it is really hard not to be repetitive with this one. Look, don’t get cute, that is my only advice. Sure, it may pay off the pair up Jon Rahm and Jason Day to get you some maybe safer golfers to target in the mid-tier, but my opinion this week is that you want to do whatever it takes to roster the number one golfer in the world… Even though his salary is approaching $20K, and is possibly the highest number we have ever seen for PGA on Fantasy Draft.

From what I saw last week at the Players Championship, if Johnson would have made a few more putts inside of 15′ he would have been right there with McIlroy and Furyk. However, they don’t always fall, and he was still able to finish T-5. Yes this salary is insane, but I like four golfers under $13,500 this week. That allows me to roster my two favorites to win this week in DJ, and my next target.

Sergio Garcia – $16,600

Another repeat write-up, but Garcia and Johnson are my lock in plays this week on just about every DFS site I play on this week. After ripping off seven straight top tens on the European Tour as the Calendar turned to 2019, Garcia suffered his bunker melt-down at the inaugural Saudi International and was disqualified from the tournament to end his streak.

Garcia then made his way to the U.S. and played the Genesis Open, before notching another top-ten at the WGC-Mexico. He continues to contend almost every week, as he finished T-9 at the Honda Classic, and slipped a little bit last week at the Players to finish T-22. I love Sergio in relation to this field this week, and I fully expect another top-ten finish.

Daily Fantasy Golf: PGA Fantasy Draft Value Plays – The 2019 Valspar Championship

Sungjae Im – $13,900

This is a little steep price wise for what I want to do this week, but trust me I tried. I feel like everyone will jump ship on Im this week after the missed cut last week at the Players, but I am not quite ready for that yet. He is still just a kid, and is a total boom or bust as his recent history suggests. This is his first trip to Copperhead, but that has been the case for the rookie nearly every week.

More from FanSided

Im has now played nine events in 2019, and while it started with consistency, there has been some struggles recently. He grabbed his second top-10 at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, but missed two consecutive cuts after that in California. He bonced back a little bit at the Honda Classic by at least making the cut and finishing T-51, but it was the Arnold Palmer Invitational in which he flexed once again.

The T-3 finish at Bay Hill is the difference maker for me. Yes he has three missed cuts in his last five events, but he also has two top-tens in his last six. This is definition boom or bust, and a great hit or miss GPP play at this price.

J.T. Poston – $13,200

Still perfect making cuts in 2019, Poston has played all three weeks so far on the Florida swing, and his T-22 last week at the Players was his best finish since his T-7 at the Desert Classic in January. This is my favorite value play of the week, as Poston has also played Copperhead and the Valspar Championship once before in 2017, and finished T-14.

Poston has finished inside the top 30 in five of his nine tournaments in 2019, and seems like a dirt cheap option to at least play into the weekend. Only other golfer I feel as comfortable with down here is Joaquin Niemann, who is another young gun, up-and-comer, who has made three cuts in a row. Both will fit with DJ and Sergio, as long as I have good punt, and this week we certainly have that with our last target.

Daily Fantasy Golf: PGA Fantasy Draft GPP Punt Plays – The 2019 Valspar Championship

Akshay Bhatia – $10,300

What a perfect site to experiment with a near minimum price golfer that you probably have never heard of, but projects to be a household name in less than five years. On Fantasy Draft, we get to drop our lowest score, therefore, I have absolutely zero qualms with using one of my spots on this 17-year-old phenom, who is set to turn pro next year.

Bhatia is here in Florida on a sponsors exemption, and the kid from North Carolina finished 2018 as the world’s top ranked junior, and is currently ranked ninth in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. He has already said he will skip college, and his sole focus is golf. While he might not be ready to contend just yet, there is little doubt it will not be long with some of the comparisons he is drawing. In a week where Dustin Johnson is super expensive and a must-have, Bhatia looks like he was sent straight from the DFS Gods.
