28. Chris Mack, Louisville

Chris Mack inherited a brutal situation at Louisville after the disastrous end to the Rick Pitino era, but we should have known the Cardinals would be in good hands. Xavier became a tournament fixture under Mack’s watch, going 215-97 and punching tickets to dance eight times in nine years.

27. Fran McCaffery, Iowa

McCaffery is best known for his run as the head coach of Siena, guiding the tiny MAAC school to consecutive first round wins in 2007 and 2008. That run helped McCaffery get the head job at Iowa, where he has taken the Hawkeyes to the dance four times.

26. Eric Musselman, Nevada

One of the biggest rising stars in college coaching is Eric Musselman, who washed out as an NBA coach before finding a home at Nevada. The Wolf Pack have gone an incredible 110-33 since Musselman took over in 2015 with three trips to March Madness, including a memorable run to the Sweet 16 a year ago.

25. Fran Dunphy, Temple

Dunphy, who is retiring after the season, has had a long and distinguished run as a college basketball coach. After taking Penn to the NCAA Tournament nine times, Dunphy succeeded John Chaney at Temple and took the Owls to the dance in his first six years at the helm.
