4. Jay Wright, Villanova

No coach has garnered more respect in the past five years than Jay Wright, who has turned the Wildcats into a blue blood. Everyone knows about Villanova’s two national titles in the past three years, but people may not know that until this season the Wildcats hadn’t lost consecutive games in five years. That is an incredibly dominant run of basketball, and all the credit goes to the program that Wright built.

3. John Calipari, Kentucky

Calipari is The Godfather of the one-and-done era in college basketball, taking full advantage of the NBA’s age limit to get elite players to come to Kentucky year after year. Even though he only has one national championship no one can deny how brilliant a coach Calipari is.

2. Roy Williams, North Carolina

Roy Williams had a good run at Kansas, but he built his legacy at North Carolina, winning three national titles with three different cores of players. The Tar Heels are one of the favorites to cut down the nets in Minneapolis this year, and Williams’ experience will be valuable in the tournament.

1. Mike Krzyzewski, Duke

The unquestioned number one on this list is Mike Krzyzewski, who is the greatest college coach since John Wooden. Coach K has the most wins for a male college coach in history, and his five national championships rank second behind Wooden all time. When it comes to the coaches in this tournament, no one has a better resume than Krzyzewski.
