Utah State Aggies – Merlin Olsen
Merlin Olsen (1958-1962) was a man of many talents. It is hard to determine what he is most famous for. It could be his dominant 15-year Hall of Fame NFL career. During his NFL career, he was selected to 14 straight Pro Bowls. Some may say he is most famous for his acting. After Olsen was done with the NFL, he moved on to act in Little House on the Prairie and the drama Father Murphy. He was successful at both ventures.
Vermont Catamounts – Trey Anastasio
Phish has been going strong since 1983 since 1986 the current lineup has remained unchanged. Trey Anastasio (attended 1983-1984) is the lead vocalist of the jam band. Phish is known for their musical improvisation and they often will blend genres. Phish has one of the most rabid fan bases in music, as they play to sold-out crowds every night on tour. Outside of his successful career with Phish, the singer has released 11 solo albums of his own and has been nominated for a Tony award.
Villanova Wildcats – Bradley Cooper
Bradley Cooper (attended 1993-1994) is one of the handfuls of names in Hollywood who instantly makes a movie better. His latest film A Star is Born was nominated for several awards including three Oscar nominations and featured a Billboard number one song from the soundtrack. On top of his tremendous acting, Cooper is also a successful movie producer. He has produced the movie American Sniper. The actor has a long list of success stories, his role in the Hangover series was considered his breakthrough performance.
Virginia Cavaliers – Tina Fey
Saturday Night Live has been a staple of sketch comedy on NBC for 1975. The cast has come and gone and most of them still have successful careers. Tina Fey (Class of ’92) was a staple on some of the shows biggest sketches for a 10-year run. She has produced and starred in many other successful sitcoms as well. 30 Rock and The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt are the two most popular. The comedian has received nine primetime Emmy awards, three Golden Globes and five Screen Actors Guild awards. Her credentials speak for themselves.
