Wisconsin Badgers – Charles Lindbergh
Charles Lindbergh (attended 1920-22) made a non-stop flight in a single-engine plane from Long Island, New York to Paris, France. To put that in perspective, it took him 33 and a half hours and he had to travel 3,600 miles. His plane was known as the Spirit of St. Louis. Once Lindbergh landed in France, he notched his place in history. Even though he was not the first to complete the transatlantic flight. The aviator was the first to complete the flight solo. Lindbergh got his start as an aviator in the military and when he made the flight, he was a simple air courier for the U.S. Mail.
Wofford Terriers – Wendi Nix
ESPN is the worldwide leader in sports and any time you have a job as a sideline reporter or an anchor of one of their shows, it will look good on a resume. Wendi Nix (Class of ’96) is currently the anchor of the very popular show, NFL Live.
Yale Bulldogs – George H. W. Bush
The 41st President of the United States, George Herbert Walker Bush (Class of ’48.) The former president was big on foreign policy and during his presidency, America saw the dissolution of the Berlin Wall and the fall of the Soviet Union. Bush was the first incumbent Vice President to be elected president after defeating Michael Dukakis in 1988. Bush is also credited with enacting the trade agreement NAFTA. He was defeated by Bill Clinton in the next election.
