The possibilities for great matchups can feel almost endless in March Madness, but these 10 potential games would be too good to pass up.

With 68 teams in the field, there are a lot of different matchups we could see during this NCAA tournament. Although we don’t know who will advance, the TV networks are surely pulling for certain matchups that will maximize ratings and entertainment value.

There are a lot of tremendous possibilities in this field, but we’ve narrowed down the list to our 10 favorite potential games, beginning with a contrast of styles for the Round of 32.

10. Marquette vs. Florida State, West Region, Round of 32

This potential second-round matchup in the West Regional may not jump off the page, but it has a chance to be a very exciting game. On one side, you have Florida State, a team that upset Virginia in the ACC Tournament and gave Duke all they could handle in the title game.

The Seminoles are a classic tournament team, relying on their experience and tremendous defense to make a deep March run. Leonard Hamilton’s squad got all the way to the Elite Eight a year ago and will look to take that next step by reaching the Final Four for the first time since 1972.

Florida State could be in for a fight in the second round if they run into Marquette and their explosive leading scorer, Markus Howard. Howard averages 25 points per game, the most of any player whose team made the tournament, and the Golden Eagles were a potential top-two seed before a late-season swoon.

That ability didn’t just go away, so Marquette could give Florida State everything they can handle in Hartford. Howard also has game-wrecking potential, so he could put the Golden Eagles on his back and bring them with him to Anaheim.
