Welcome to NHL DFS Man Advantage for Wednesday night March 20th! Tonight we are back down to a small slate with only 4 games on the schedule after last nights huge 10 game slate. We have a huge Eastern Conference Final rematch from last season with Tampa Bay heading to Washington tonight, but after this huge game the other 3 are kind of, blah. Ottawa and Vancouver isn’t a great fantasy or reality game, and the other two are pretty one-sided for Toronto and Winnipeg.

Tonight’s NHL DFS Schedule:

Toronto @ Buffalo

Projected Goal Total: 6.5

Tampa Bay @ Washington

Projected Goal Total: 6.5

Ottawa @ Vancouver

Projected Goal Total: 6

Winnipeg @ Anaheim

Projected Goal Total: 6

NHL DFS Goalies:

Tonight’s goaltending situation is pretty grim to be honest. I don’t really like either goalie in the Tampa/Washington game because I have a feeling that will be the highest scoring game of the night. I do like the idea of starting one of the goalies from the Vancouver/Ottawa game. Neither team a prolific goal scoring teams with both of them in the bottom half of the league with Ottawa averaging 2.96 GF/G and Vancouver only averages 2.67 GF/G.

Unfortunately it is too early to know who is starting but it’s being predicted that Anders Nilsson ($6,800) and Thatcher Demko ($8,000) are getting the start. I would lean-to whoever gets the nod from Vancouver as my first choice though. Lastly the most likely #1 goaltending option is Connor Hellebuyck ($8,000) on the road against Anaheim and their league worst 2.30 GF/G average. For the same price and Demko, I trust Hellebuyck much more than him.

As far as the Toronto and Buffalo game, I am not interested in this one either because it is more than likely that Garret Sparks ($8,100) since Frederik Andersen started last nights game. Sparks has seemingly lost all trust from coach Babcock though so there is a chance we get Andersen on a back to back so we will just have to monitor the situation throughout the day.

NHL DFS Top Forwards:

Jack Eichel ($7,400) – Jack Eichel has enjoyed playing the Maple Leafs this season. In 3 games against the Leafs, Eichel has 4 goals, 6 blocked shots, 15 shot on goal, and averaging 7.5 DKFP per game.

Bo Horvat ($6,600) – I wrote up Horvat for Monday nights game against Chicago and he responded with a goal and an assist so I will go back to him tonight in an even better match up for him in Ottawa. Horvat has 2 goals and 4 assists in his last 5 games as well and did pick an assist and 4 DKFP in the Canucks previous matchup with the Senators this season

Patrik Laine ($5,800) – Laine hasn’t had the best season of his career this year but he has seen an improvement in his game of late. In his last 10 Laine has 8 points including 1 goal and 7 assists and averaging 3 DKFP per game. Laine is back on the top line for Winnipeg as well with Marj Scheifele and Blake Wheeler which surely has something to do with his uptick in play of late.

Brady Tkachuk ($5,300) – Tkahcuk has gone a cold spell in the last couple of weeks and only 2 goals and 2 assists over the Senators last 6 contests. If Ottawa is to win tonight on the road Tkachuk and the rest of the top line for Ottawa will need to turn their game up.

Adam Henrique ($4,300) – Henrique has points in back to back to back games for the Ducks. I probably won’t be having too much exposire to anyone from Anaheim, but i you are give DailyFaceOFf.com a look for their line combos.

Anthony Cirelli ($3,800) – Cirelli is one of the MANY Lightning players on fire right now. In Cirelli’s last 10 games with the Lightning he has 3 goals, 5 assists and has an average of 3 DKFP per game. Cirellie centers the Lightning 3rd line with Mathieu Joseph and Alex Killorn

Anthony Duclair ($3,300) – Duclair has gotten a 3rd or is 4th chance by now at making it in the league with the Senators. Either way he has actually had some minimal success with the Senators in a short time.

NHL DFS Top Defensemen:

Top Tier:

Alex Edler ($6,200) – In his last 7 games Edler has 3 goals and 2 assists, as well as 20 shots on goal and is averaging 5.75 DKF per game. Edler is paired up with Alex Biega on the Canucks top D pair as well as playing on the first power play.

Other Options : Jake Muzzin (5,300), Brandon Montour ($4,700)

Value Tier:

Christian Wolanin ($3,700) – Wolanin has points in back to back games for the Senators. In his only game against the Canucks, Wolanin  has a goal and picked up 4.5 DKFP in that game.

Other Options: Troy Stecher ($3,200), Marco Scandella ($2,800)

NHL DFS Line Stacks:

My top line stack for tonight is once again the Lightning on the road in Washington. This is the best PP in the league with a league best 67 power play goals and the best PP % in the league with a 28.4 PP %.

J.T. MILLER
STEVEN STAMKOS
BRAYDEN POINT
VICTOR HEDMAN
NIKITA KUCHEROV

Other Line Stack Options: Winnipeg 1, Buffalo PP 1, Anaheim 2, Toronto 1, 2, PP 1

NHL DFS Core Plays:

I will start my build for tonight with Connor Hellebuyck in net and then build around a mini stack of sorts with the Tampa PP (Kucherov, Miller, and Hedman). Then I will move onto adding in Jack Eichel and his PP line mates from Buffalo, Casey Mittelstadt and Rasmus Dahlin. This lineup build strategy will leave you $4,950 for your two remaining spots at Wing and Utility.
