3. Friends and title matches don’t mix

Kelley is once again backstage looking for more opinions from the NXT roster regarding tonight’s main event. She interrupts Kairi Sane and Io Shirai in the middle of a photo shoot to get their thoughts. Sane says she and Shirai are very excited for tonight’s main event and wonder who will go on to the main event of Takeover.

Kelley changes the subject to their fatal four-way match for the NXT Women’s Championship at Takeover. She questions whether they are worried about going into the match as friends. Shirai is quick to note that nothing can come between their friendship and at Takeover hopes the best woman wins. Sane agrees, adding that while both of them want the championship and, if need be, they will fight against each other.

Before she is able to finish her thought, Bianca Belair interrupts to say that neither of them deserve to be going to Takeover because if Shayna Baszler had not interfered in their matchup last week, she would have defeated Shirai to get another one-on-one title opportunity at Takeover.

Belair tells Sane that this has nothing to do with her, which makes no sense since she is also involved in the fatal four-way match. She says at Takeover she will run through both of them to become the next champion and that there is nothing either of them can do about it. Her mindset is undefeated.

Honestly this whole “Un-de-fea-ted” deal needs to end. Belair is not undefeated. Undefeated is not a mindset. When you lose you are no longer undefeated. It’s not that hard to understand. Hopefully, Belair gets a new catchphrase sooner rather than later.
