Kofi Kingston: 5 ways he still gets his match at WrestleMania
By Matt Black
Kofi Kingston’s window to compete for the WWE Championship was seemingly closed Tuesday night on SmackDown Live, but we’re here to tell you five ways that #KofiMania can still happen.
This Tuesday on SmackDown Live, Kofi Kingston won his gauntlet match to earn a title opportunity against WWE Champion Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania. Unfortunately for him, once again Vince McMahon interfered in the proceedings and put yet another roadblock in Kingston’s path to the championship match.
After beating the likes of Sheamus, Cesaro, Rowan, United States Champion Samoa Joe and Randy Orton, McMahon added the champion himself, Daniel Bryan, to the mix after Kingston had wrestled for nearly an hour. At that point, the odds were too much for Kingston to overcome and Bryan defeated Kingston to close the show.
The WWE Universe voiced their immediate displeasure in the arena and all over social media over the last few days. But fear not, because we’re here to tell you why #KofiMania is still alive and well. Let’s run down five ways that Kingston can still compete for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.
1. New Day takes matters into their own hands
It has been evident over the past several weeks that Kingston’s stablemates in the New Day have become more and more increasingly frustrated with the roadblocks and obstacles McMahon has laid down before Kingston to keep him from taking part in the match he has already earned on several occasions.
This week could have caused the team to reach its absolute boiling point, leading to New Day going on an absolute tear of Braun Strowman proportions next Tuesday until McMahon has no other choice but to give them what they want.
We’ve already seen hints of this when New Day interrupted the eight-man tag and laid everyone out last week. New Day could turn the blue brand into chaos leaving McMahon no option but to give Kingston the title match that he has already earned.
