Zion Williamson is definitely going to dunk on Tacko Fall now

UCF’s 7-foot-6 big man Tacko Fall says he isn’t going to let Duke star Zion Williamson dunk on him, but he might not have a choice.

In the First Round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament, Tacko Fall was dominant as he and the UCF Knights topped the VCU Rams to earn a date with Zion Williamson and the Duke Blue Devils on Sunday night in Columbia, SC. This sets up a matchup of titanic individuals in the Round of 32 in March Madness.

At 7-foot-6, 310 pounds, Fall is a giant on the interior, and a true force on the defensive end. Not only did he average 2.6 blocks per game this season, but also notched five in the win against VCU. On the other bench, though, Williamson has been an unrivaled force in college basketball this season, and seemingly no one can stop him from trying to tear down the rim with ferocious dunks.

Following UCF’s win and securing a matchup against Zion and Duke, Fall was asked by NCAA.com’s Andy Katz about the prospect of Williamson dunking on him. The senior center responded with confidence, saying:

"I won’t allow it. I won’t allow it. I won’t allow him putting me on one of his highlight tapes."

In fairness to Fall, that’s the proper response from a confident college basketball player. Even Williamson himself recognized this, as he had the following to say when asked about Fall’s comments:

That’s exactly the point if you’re dissecting what Fall had to say. However, this all feels like it’s definitely leading towards Zion Williamson, in fact, putting Tacko Fall on one of his highlight tapes.

Look, Fall is a fantastic player and, as he also said in the interview with Katz, it’s hard to dunk on him. However, Williamson has made the seemingly impossible routine throughout the season. His athleticism and power are truly not of this world, and even a 7-foot-6 rim-protector has little chance of stopping him if he has a full head of steam flying towards the rim.

College basketball fans should be salivating at the opportunity to watch a Zion vs. Tacko matchup as they are two physical anomalies battling it out. But with all the chatter leading up to the matchup about the potential of the star freshman dunking on the senior big man, the smart money is on Williamson coming out on top in that scenario.
