Clint Bowyer won this race last year, which he’d certainly love to do again and snag his first victory of the 2019 season. But there are plenty of former Martinsville winners in the current NASCAR field, including three-time winner Denny Hamlin (winner of this year’s Daytona 500), Kevin Harvick, Ryan Newman, and three-time champion Jimmie Johnson (certainly in need of a more recent victory).

Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch, who have both already racked up race victories this season, have also driven to Victory Lane at Martinsville. That makes Sunday’s event pretty much wide open, and those are the best kinds of NASCAR races. Will the drivers who have shown early speed continue to outpace the competition, or is this the week when somebody else breaks through? Is this when Johnson finally figures out his problems and gets back into the win column?
