5. Seth Rollins vs The Miz vs Finn Balor (WrestleMania 34)

Last year’s WrestleMania opening match makes its way into the top five. The Miz defended the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 34 against Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. All three men could easily be in the main event scene at any time, but they were not in the bigger title pictures in early 2018. WWE did respect them enough to give their triple threat match the opening spot to start the show off right.

Each wrestler had a memorable entrance that already added importance to the overall match. The combinations and fast pace of the bout got the crowd invested for it’s entirety. Rollins would come away as the winner to officially become a grand slam champion.

The Intercontinental Championship found new relevance in 2018, and Rollins’ win here to start a great reign was pivotal. Miz, Balor and Rollins each took great pride in opening WrestleMania 34 and arguably stole the show in the first match.
