NFL Draft 2019: Denver Broncos full mock draft

The Denver Broncos own the tenth pick in the NFL Draft and could go in a variety of directions to help their team get back in the playoff hunt.
Coming off the 2018 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos had a lot to be excited about. They lucked into the draft’s top pass rusher Bradley Chubb to pair with Von Miller. In the later rounds they found receivers to build around with Courtland Sutton and DeaSean Hamilton. They were even able to grab talented players Josey Jewell and Isaac Yiadom to provide depth on the defensive side of the ball. Their most surprising rookie was actually undrafted free agent Philip Lindsey who will be the feature back in this offense next season.
They entered the 2019 offseason with questions after a disappointing season left the Broncos 6-10 and missing on the playoffs. Their investment in quarterback Case Keenum flopped and he was replaced via trade for Baltimore Ravens’ veteran Joe Flacco. General manager John Elway has not mixed words and signals that Flacco is their guy for now and the future. That leaves their offseason about making the best team around Flacco.
Interestingly enough the biggest offseason additions for the Broncos may be on the sideline. New head coach Vic Fangio brings a defensive background to Mile High. He’s got a talented group in place already to work with. Offensively, where the Broncos really need a boost, Fangio tagged former 49ers quarterback coach Rich Scangarello. He joins newly hired Mike Munchak as two critical pieces to help a disappointing offense in 2018.
On the field the addition of Dolphins right tackle Ja’Wuan James gives Denver a pair of bookend tackles to protect the comically immobile Flacco. Defensive backs were a priority and the Broncos signed veteran corner Kareem Jackson who fits Fangio’s preferred mold at corner. Bryce Callahan, the Broncos other corner signed, was with Fangio in Chicago last season. Denver will miss the departed Matt Paradis but he is the only player that can impact the field with him not returning next season.
Denver’s a pivotal spot in the NFL draft with the tenth pick in the first round. They’ve got a selection in each round, including two in the fifth. Elway’s track record in the draft is not good. Here is how they would be best served utilizing their picks to succeed next season.
