It was clear from the tape that Nurkic was in immense pain, as were his teammates and coaches who looked on from the sidelines. Various images (graphic warning) circulated on Twitter shortly after which showed his lower leg pointed in an unnatural direction.
The injury occurred at the 2:22 minute mark while Nurkic was struggling for an offensive rebound. Prior to the injury, he was coming off a spectacular game with 32 points, 16 rebounds, five assists and four blocks.
Though there is no official word, it’s likely that Nurkic will be out for the rest of the season and it appears that his leg bone has snapped.
The injury can be seen happening here but warning, the image is graphic.
Nurkic was traded from Denver and without his help the team will likely suffer greatly in the playoffs. A thought that surely crossed the players minds who were seen crying on the sidelines and Nurkic was tended to.
The team clinched a playoff spot in Monday’s game but it was easily clouded by the devastating injury to Nurkic.
Terry Stotts says Nurkic is at a local area hospital and doesn’t have much to say from there. Calls it “devastating” and described the locker room at “quiet.” Blazers clinched a playoff spot tonight by the way.

“He’s a big part of our family,” Enes Kanter said in the locker room following the game.
At press time there was no update on Nurkic’s health.
