WWE SmackDown Live preview, March 26: Watch online
Here’s all the information you need for the March 26, 2019 edition of WWE SmackDown Live.
We’re just over a week away from WrestleMania 35, and there is a lot to sort through before we even get to MetLife Stadium. Let’s get caught up from last week and see what lies ahead on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live.
WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has figuratively had his foot on Kofi Kingston’s throat over the last few weeks. Last week, McMahon gave Kingston a final opportunity to go to WrestleMania and face Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship. All he had to do was survive a gauntlet match. Easy, right?
Sure, unless the opponents included Randy Orton, Rowan, Sheamus, Cesaro and Samoa Joe. Shockingly enough, Kingston outlasted every one of them, and was in full celebration mode with New Day brothers Big E and Xavier Woods. And then McMahon returned, only to drop the news that Kingston would have to go through one more challenge: Bryan himself.
The WWE Champion marched to the ring and crushed Kingston’s WrestleMania dreams, by pinning him in the middle of the ring. Ever since, The New Day has been seen on social media questioning why they are still in WWE, that it seems like they will never break through the “glass ceiling” that seems to be blocking their advancement. What will the pancake-loving trio have to say this week, now that another shot at the WWE Championship has evaporated into thin air?
Sonya Deville, Mandy Rose, Naomi and Carmella will face off in a fatal four-way match, with a trip to WrestleMania on the line. The winner will face Asuka for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. There have been obvious problems between Deville and Rose over the last few weeks, and that will definitely play a role this week. Who will move on to face Asuka, and will they be ready for the blue brand’s champion?
Kurt Angle announced last week on Raw that this year’s WrestleMania would be his final in-ring match. But before he gets there, he has a match against the “Phenomenal” AJ Styles. The two have a storied history going back to their TNA days, and will wrap up their chapter just days before Angle heads to WrestleMania to face Baron Corbin. This should be an entertaining match, as Angle bids farewell to SmackDown Live.

Last week, we saw The Miz deliver one of the most emotional speeches we’ve seen from him. After the brutal assault from Shane McMahon at Fastlane, the two are on a collision course for WrestleMania. Will we see the two this week, and how will they interact just over a week from their showdown at MetLife Stadium?
This could be a dramatic week for SmackDown Live. With The Miz/Shane McMahon situation, and Angle’s farewell tour, who knows what will happen when cameras go live at Mohegan Sun. Tune into the USA Network and find out.
