42. . Edge. Ohio State. Nick Bosa. 2. player

Heading into the 2018 college football season, Ohio State edge rusher Nick Bosa was seen as a one of the better draft prospects in the country. Now, entering the draft, he is arguably the top overall player available in April, and the San Francisco 49ers would be wise to grab him with the No. 2 overall pick.

Of course, the 49ers could end up trading out of the No. 2 pick, as there are plenty of teams picking after them that need a quarterback. However, Bosa is the kind of player they can base their defense around for the next ten years, and general manager John Lynch was an incredibly gifted defensive player during his time in the NFL.

The 2019 season will be year three of a five-year commitment to both Lynch, and head coach Kyle Shanahan, two guys who were brought in to turn this franchise around. While the wins have been scarce over the first two years, they are building a solid roster, and should be at least a Wild Card contender this season.

San Francisco brought in a solid edge rusher via free agency in Dee Ford, who was outstanding at getting after the quarterback during his time in Kansas City. They have spent draft capital on the defensive line in recent drafts as well, but Bosa is so talented that the team will not be able to pass up on him with the No. 2 pick this April.
