Les Miles hasn’t coached a game yet for Kansas but he’s already winning over the student body.
If you’re a student at Kansas and don’t have any funds for lunch today, just ask Les Miles and he’ll be happy to get you a snack.
The new Kansas football coach was reportedly buying lunch for all students who walked by at The Underground, one of the popular dining locations on campus.
Just not for any of his football players, or any other student-athletes, since that would be an NCAA violation, because how dare someone buy another person a bag of chips.
#kufball’s Les Miles is currently in The Underground on KU’s campus buying lunch for every single student who walks through.

In what may be a tough year for Miles at Kansas, it’s a really brilliant idea to put in some face time with the students and endear some goodwill. If I was a student at Kansas and Miles offered to buy me lunch, you’re darn right, I’m going to support his team come the fall.
This should be mandatory minimums for all coaches. If you’re trying to build up some positive momentum for your program, the best way to do so is offering people free food.
Think about it, when you’re at work and your boss offers to buy pizza for the office, it’s an instant rush of goodwill and you get the employees on your side. If a coach does it, he’s instantly won over his fanbase. Sure, Kansas may go 3-9 this year, but the difference between 3-9 under David Beaty at Kansas, is that Beaty never offered to buy anyone a burger on a Wednesday afternoon.
Miles hasn’t even coached a game yet, but he’s already managed to get his first big win by buying a bunch of students lunch. Thankfully, he didn’t order any grass smoothies.
