Jim Ross revealed on his podcast this week that he may be days away from signing with All Elite Wrestling (AEW). What exactly did he say about this potential deal?

We might only be days away from an official announcement from AEW regarding WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross joining their company in some capacity. On the latest edition of the Ross Report on Westwood One, Ross opened up about his ongoing discussions with the upstart promotion.

Ross said he appreciated being a guest on ESPN’s Outside the Lines where official confirmation of his discussions with AEW was first discussed. He says that this Friday is his last day under contract with WWE after 26 years, and added it’s been a glorious and rewarding time. He says he’s financially set for the rest of his life and going to work for Vince McMahon was the best decision he has made in the wrestling business. He also says he has no regrets or remorse that Friday is his last day with WWE.

Ross brought up AEW and that he is talking with them, calling it an exciting young company and feels like he can contribute to its success either at ringside calling the play-by-play or behind the scenes. He says all the details are still being discussed and when something is finalized, which he believes will be coming within the next few days, that he will let us all know.

Ross says life is good and that when one door closes another one opens and if all goes well, it’s going to be a good year. The AEW discussions end there, but the whole episode is fascinating, including great interviews with Tony Schiavone and Kenny Omega.
