Best and worst case scenario for every MLB team in 2019
By Brad Weiss
Kansas City Royals
The Kansas City Royals struggled big time last season, as they won only 58 games, which was second-worst in the entire American League. They did have one bright spot in Whit Merrifield, who actually led the Major Leagues in hits, despite being the only real threat in this Royals lineup.
This offseason, Kansas City added Billy Hamilton, who will bring a threat at the top of their lineup this upcoming season. Unfortunately, this Royals team will struggle to win games once again in 2019, as they have a pretty mediocre starting rotation, and there is just not enough pop in this lineup to scare the opposition.
Best case scenario
The best case scenario for the Royals would be avoiding another 100-loss season, as they were one of the worst teams in baseball this past season. If they can get to 70 wins, which would be an incredible improvement over last season, they could find themselves outside of the cellar in the AL Central.
Worst case scenario
Second verse, same as the first. The Royals do not have the talent to take a major step forward this season, and the worst case would be them finishing towards the bottom of the American League once again. The AL Central is pretty weak, but this team will struggle to win 60 games this season.
