Minnesota Twins

The Minnesota Twins missed out on the playoffs for the second straight season in 2018, and after the season, they tabbed Rocco Baldelli to be the team’s new manager. Baldelli became the youngest manager in baseball, but I really like the hire, and think he can bring something special to the role in 2019.

Minnesota, unfortunately, has a ton of question marks when it comes to the roster, and it goes from  the rotation, all the way down the lineup. Sure, they have some proven Major Leaguers, but some younger players are going to get a real chance to prove their worth this season, and the campaign hinges on whether or not they are ready to make the jump to the big leagues.

Best case scenario

The Twins do have young talent up and down their lineup, and they added a sure bat in the person of designated hitter Nelson Cruz. The hope is that their young pitching staff can step up in 2019, and with the AL Central really only the Cleveland Indians and everybody else, the Twins could end up sneaking in as a Wild Card this season.

Worst case scenario

Nearly the entire AL Central failed to win half of their games last season, though the Twins gave it their best shot, finishing with 78 wins over their 162-game slate. This is a team that has made the playoffs only once since the 2010 MLB season, and the worst case scenario would be the team continuing that trend this season.
