1. Drew Lock

Kyler Murray and Haskins are getting a ton of attention heading into the draft and that’s allowed Drew Lock to fly under the radar. That’s rare for a quarterback prospect, but it could play right into the Broncos’ hands.

Frankly, this is one of those picks that really seems to make too much sense not to happen. The Broncos desperately need to add a quarterback for the future. Lock has a big arm and better than average mobility. His mechanics and technique need some work, but Denver would be happy to let him sit behind Flacco and learn for a while.

The only question the Broncos need to ask here is whether or not Lock at No. 10 represents good value. In other words, Elway and company have to decide whether or not he’s a significant upgrade over a guy like Daniel Jones who could be available in Round 2.

The industry consensus claims that Lock is well ahead of Jones, so logic dictates that the Broncos should strongly consider taking the former Missouri star here. Denver shouldn’t over think this. If they project Lock as an above average starter, they should snap him up at No. 10.
