2. Solskjaer loses first game as head coach

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done a brilliant job as Manchester United’s interim coach and this week the club announced that the Norwegian will take over this role on a full-time basis. Considering the performance of the team, this isn’t too much of a surprise but now his job will come with more pressure.

He may still remain a natural as the manager of Manchester United but now he doesn’t have that interim status, the club will definitely expect more of him. United have a similar feeling to Real Madrid in that they’re a huge club with players that have huge egos which need to be managed.

Zinedine Zidane did this brilliantly at Real Madrid and Solskjaer appears to be doing the same at United. All of his decisions will come under more scrutiny now and the Norwegian may approach Saturday’s game against Watford with a slightly different mentality.

Watford have had a great season and play some marvelous soccer at times. Unfortunately they’ve never sustained a run of form long enough to really put them in contention for a place in the top six, but they certainly have player capable of playing at that kind of level.

They have a good mix of skill and strength throughout their side which makes them quite difficult to play against — particularly at set-pieces. Javi Gracia will know that his side can win this one if his side play to their full potential.

United have looked much more like a team of late and Paul Pogba has become the focal point for creating and starting attacking moves. If the Frenchman is in a good mood then it’s almost impossible to stop him and Watford will have to have someone marking him very closely.

If the Hornets monitor Pogba and just play their own game, they could spoil Solskjaer’s first match in charge as the full-time manager.
