Virginia Tech vs. Duke live stream: Watch Sweet 16 online
The Duke Blue Devils survived a scare in the Second Round of March Madness, now they hope to stave off a Sweet 16 upset against the Virginia Tech Hokies.
Zion Williamson and the Duke Blue Devils almost didn’t make it to the Sweet 16 of the 2019 NCAA Tournament. After a buzzer-beater fell short against them in the Second Round, though, Mike Krzyzewski’s team now heads into the second weekend of March Madness and eyes a familiar foe. On Friday night, they’ll take on a Virginia Tech Hokies team that has already bested them once this season.
As many will be sure to point out to you, in the Hokies win over Duke in the regular season, Zion was not on the floor as he sat out with a knee injury. Williamson is a game-changer that takes the Blue Devils from solid to title contenders with his presence. While RJ Barrett and Cam Reddish are immensely talented, Coach K’s team will go as far as Zion can carry them on his large shoulders.
However, Virginia Tech was also without one of their go-to guys, guard Justin Robinson, when they knocked off the Blue Devils. Having said that, these two teams will come into this matchup on Friday at full strength, including the Hokies having Ty Outlaw Jr. despite a recent arrest. With those two players and the likes of Nickeil Alexander-Walker, this team is better than they get credit for.
While it’s incredibly tough to beat Duke twice — especially with Williamson playing in this matchup — Virginia Tech is a talented team that can’t be taken lightly. This should be an incredible ACC clash on Friday night and you can keep up with the Sweet 16 matchup below.

Coming into March Madness, Duke was the top overall seed and everyone seemed to pin them as the favorites to win it all. However, they’ve looked vulnerable at times and, with Virginia Tech already having a win over them this year, perhaps lightning can strike twice for the Hokies.
