Daily Fantasy Baseball is in full swing, and whether you play on DraftKings, FanDuel, Yahoo, or Fantasy Draft, this article is designed to help you find the best value plays across the board for today’s slate. These low salary targets are my top players to help you roster your stud bats and pitchers.

Welcome to FantasyCPR! If you are a regular reader, welcome back for baseball! If you are new we are glad to have you, and we certainly hope you make us your first source of your Daily Fantasy Baseball research everyday. We will have plenty of articles every day here at FantasyCPR, and no matter where you play, we are likely to have you covered.

What separates us from others, is that we have a solid team of writers all tackling different areas to write about. This allows us to hone in our content, and you give our best plays possible, as early as possible. We are without a doubt the leader in first-look articles for DFS, so if you just found us, welcome, and I hope you come back for more.

While most of our content is site specific, whether it be for hitting or pitching, this article is going to be different. What I will do here, is evaluate potential value plays for that particular day, across the four major DFS sites.

So the plan of attack here is, first I will highlight my top value plays for Yahoo and Fantasy Draft. I will dig up certain plays that I think fit their scoring systems, and possible flaws in pricing. I will then do the same for FanDuel, and then for DraftKings.

Finally after I break down my favorites from each site specifically, I will then finish up with top overall multi-site value plays. These are the top players viable across the industry, who are in line to out produce their respective salary, no matter what the site. All of these plays are just simply the best cheap plays that stand out, regardless of site.

If it does not make sense yet, it will. And it’s going to be unique, and I hope useful, as you start your Daily Fantasy Baseball research for today. Without further ado, let’s get into it. Click the bar below after each page to continue!

Daily Fantasy Baseball: Top Value Plays – Yahoo!

Main Slate – (6 Games) – (7:10 ET Start)

Yahoo is offering other slates, but they tend to start larger with the full day, and get smaller as the day progresses. Unless the site offers multiple “featured” or “main” slates, I will only touch on the contest that has the best contest. FanDuel and DraftKings will be broken into two slates today, but Yahoo and FantasyDraft will just focus on the evening main slates.

OF – Robbie Grossman – Oakland Athletics – $8

First thing I noticed when I checked out the slate is that Yahoo is already tightening up the pricing a bit. Kolten Wong $17 after a game where he hits half of the homers he will hit all season apparently makes him tied for the 2nd most expensive second baseman on the slate, and with Brock Holt and Jurickson Profar MORE expensive at $18, that right there should tell you it is going to be tough today.

Another way to look at this though, is that the hitters may be priced up a bit due to the fact the strength of the pitching is down a little. Either way, should make for a fun slate, and due to the rising prices, I went to find the best play at under $10 for you, and I think that stands with Oakland A’s lead off man Robbie Grossman.

Grossman landed in Oakland this off-season after three seasons in Minnesota, where he was rotated in and out different roles during his tenure. He hit a respectable .273 in 129 games last season, but was not much of a power threat with just five home runs. He has started his new role as a lead off hitter by going 3-for-7, and the switch hitter will face 29-year-old Angels right-hander Felix Pena. I don’t think Grossman is in a great spot necessarily, but we just need a few points at this price, and having a guy at the top of the order this cheap is always helpful.

P – Nick Margevicius – San Diego Padres – $25

I will admit, for a weekend prime time slate, This six-game selection here on Yahoo is pretty rough. The value on hitters just isn’t there, so this me be a GPP focused slate and pick here, as I will continue to pick on the Giants offense as much as I can early this season.

I will also admit, I did not know Margevicius cracked the opening day roster, and is set to make his major league debut tonight as the Padres continue a four-game series with San Francisco. He wasn’t a top prospect by any means, but the 22-year-old left-hander and former 7th round pick from Rider University has impressed enough to be a part of this new look, young Padres squad.

The quality of top-tier starting pitchers is just not there today, and there are plenty of superstar bats to attack with the obvious lack of pitching. If my Mother was out there on the mound against the Giants tonight at minimum price I would consider it with these other options. Get to know Nick Margevicius… At least for today.

CHICAGO, IL – JUNE 07: Starting pitcher Nick Pivetta #43 of the Philadelphia Phillies delivers the ball against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field on June 7, 2018 in Chicago, Illinois. (Photo by Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images) /

Daily Fantasy Baseball: Top Value Plays – FantasyDraft

Main Slate – (7 Games) – (1:05 ET Start)

Another site, another creative slate layout. Fantasy Draft has opted to focus on the early slate as its main slate. So the guaranteed contests you see in the lobby are for the seven total early games, starting at 1:05 ET.

Nick Pivetta – Philadelphia Phillies – $16,300

With the way the main slates are laid out today, Fantasy Draft is the only site where you can roster Phillies and Braves due to the start time of that game. FanDuel only used four games, and DraftKings went with just the six, so Fantasy Draft looks like the only place we can get our Bryce Harper fix today… Unless you chase some mid-afternoon slate somewhere else of course.

I want my Nick Pivetta fix too to be honest. The knack on the Phillies is their starting pitching, and the will need a young gun like Pivetta to step up this season and buck that trend. Pivetta had a solid spring with a 3.31 ERA, capped off with an eight strikeout, five inning outing, and I think he becomes a solid starter as the season progresses.

Brandon Drury – Toronto Blue Jays – $6,300

Well he got a slight price bump, but the Jays lead off hitter coming off of his hot spring continues to slowly receive some respect salary wise… I mean at least he is over $6K today. I don’t necessarily want to pay up for any top pitchers today, so this might not be necessary either, but Drury hit value in his first at-bat last night.

It was a lead off triple to start the game, but that was all Drury was able to muster up, striking out his next three at-bats. The main reason why I think I am into Drury though is one that many may not think about.

Although he is technically injured, Drury’s playing time hinges on the eventual arrival of prized top prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr., so to say Drury is playing for a job is an understatement. He will need to hit to stay in the lineup, and I like giving looks to guys with their livelihood on the line. Put yourself in his shoes. How hard would you work?

Daily Fantasy Baseball: Top Value Plays – FanDuel

Early Slate – (4 games)

1B – Greg Bird – New York Yankees – $2,800

With just the first four games of the day on this early slate on FanDuel today, It is hard not to take a solid look at the value at the bottom of the Yankees lineup. The Orioles will start Nate Karns this afternoon, in what is expected to be an early bullpen game for Baltimore.

Both Bird and fellow first baseman Luke Voit are power threats from opposite sides of the plate, but in the early goings, both have been in the lineup with one manning the designated hitter. Even though Bird will hit lower in the lineup, a lefty with power in Yankee stadium under $3K is the type of value I am looking for.

SS – Troy Tulowitzki – New York Yankees – $2,300

Since the bottom of the Yankees lineup is stacked as usual, this small four game slate is perfect for stacking it up. Tulo seems to be enjoying a bit of new life with New York after a decent spring training in which he clubbed four homers, and was named the starting shortstop with the injury to Didi Gregorius.

With limited value options, my plan of attack here will be Bird and Tulo stacked up with Brett Gardner, who is still too cheap at $2,900, and of course, Aaron Judge. I will not be playing cash games on this slate as there are literally zero pitchers I am completely comfortable with, but I love this bottom to top Yankees stack this afternoon.

Main Slate – (6 games)

1B – Mitch Moreland – Boston Red Sox – $2,700

Moreland was the MVP last night, as a huge game-winning, pinch-hit three-run home run late completed the Red Sox comeback 7-6 win against the Mariners in Seattle last night. It appears as the lefty power hitter will be in a timeshare once again this season as Sam Travis is getting the start against left-handed pitching, but with Mike Leake on the mound for Seattle tonight, Moreland should be in the starting lineup. This position is kind of loaded for value surprisingly, but my favorite of the bunch today is Moreland.

Daily Fantasy Baseball: Top Value Plays – DraftKings

Early Slate – (6 games)

C – Danny Jansen – Toronto Blue Jays – $3,100

Much like the Yankees value on FanDuel for the early slate, I am seeing a similar theme with the Blue Jays bats over on DraftKings. This early six-gamer is a little easier to work with than the four gamer over on FanDuel, and after an early day off, Danny Jansen should be back in this lineup this afternoon.

The 23-year-old backstop had a cup of coffee with the big club last year, and he projects to be a solid hitting catcher for years to come. The power isn’t quite there, as most catchers are not really power threats anyways, but he did hit 12 home runs in 88 games in AAA last season. On catcher mandatory sites, Jansen is my guy today.

2B/SS – Lourdes Gurriel Jr. – Toronto Blue Jays – $3,600

Main Slate – (6 games)

OF – Domingo Santana – Seattle Mariners – $3,700

With the main slate tonight on DraftKings, we have stud bats galore, a rough selection of pitchers, and not much for value under $4K. That is of course unless you want to continue riding the hot Mariners bats. Seattle beat up Chris Sale for seven runs, then Eovaldi as well last night, but still Eduardo Rodriguez is the most respected pitcher on the slate. I am not sure if I am fading him quite yet, but if I do, I may even stack up a couple right-handed bats here.

While I might like Mitch Haniger and Edwin Encarnacion a hair better, and all three are under $4K, I figured I would focus in on the cheapest of the bunch in Domingo Santana. Relative to their prices on FanDuel, all of these hitters are priced as valuable. Santana at $3,600 and Haniger at $3,900 are not adjusted to their opponent on FanDuel as they are on DK. This decisions will be tougher on DraftKings as always tonight, but it all comes down to whether or not we think Rodriguez can slow down these Mariner bats at all.

Daily Fantasy Baseball: Top Value Plays – Across the Industry!

Welcome to the most important, and final page of the article. On most days, certain value plays will line up well on 2 or three, or even all of the sites covered in this article. I will likely shorten this up in the future, but for some reason on opening day here, there is some serious overlap.

From the looks of it, I have a piece of every player coming up here on at least two sites in my early lineups, so just because you did not see somebody yet on another site specific slide from earlier, he could be coming up right now.

More from FanSided

Early Slates:

1B – Josh Bell – Pittsburgh Pirates – ($3,400 DK – $6,600 FantasyDraft)

With the way the earlier slates split up, there isn’t a whole lot of universal value at this stage. The way it kind of breaks down for me is this. On FanDuel, there is Yankees value. On DK, I want to roster two stud pitchers with no Pivetta on the slate, so I really like the universal value on the Blue Jays. While Fantasy Draft is already giving guys price bumps due to performance, it is getting really tough to find value there.

If you look at Bell’s teammates today that we were on a couple of days ago, Adam Frazier and Corey Dickerson both got price bumps that made them almost unplayable. Bell hasn’t done anything yet, but the season is young, and I like these lefties once again. Today they will face Sonny Gray, who will be making his Cincinnati Reds debut, and I think Bell is in another good spot again.

Main Slates:

SP – Yu Darvish – Chicago Cubs – ($8,800 DK – $8,600 FD – $40 Y!)

Wait up a second, is this really a value play? In my eyes yes! The pitching is downright awful for this main slate tonight, and the fact that Darvish is not priced up like a stud when he is in fact the only stud on the slate is very helpful in terms of value. Yu was electric in spring, finally seems fully healthy, and the blister that has been giving him problems is said to be a non-issue now.

Of course this is risky as this game has one of the highest game totals on the slate, but Darvish will be making his return to Texas to pitch, where he pitched for the first five seasons of his career for the Rangers. I am not sure the good old revenge narrative is as big of deal in baseball as it is in other sports, but nonetheless this is certainly one of those situations tonight. With a serious lack of viable options tonight, I have Darvish locked in everywhere.

SS – Andrelton Simmons – Los Angeles Angels – ($3,700 DK – $2,800 FD – $14 Y!)

Next. MLB DraftKings Pitching Primer – Saturday, 3/30. dark

That is all for today’s edition of MLB DFS Top Value Plays. I hope you like the format, as I think this is the best way to talk about which cheap bats and pitchers to consider, no matter what site you play on.
