Cam Reddish missed the Sweet 16 game vs. Virginia Tech with a knee injury and the Duke freshman may miss the Elite Eight game vs. Michigan State.

Cam Reddish is a game-time decision for Sunday’s game vs. Michigan State as he continues to deal with a knee injury that kept him from playing vs. Virginia Tech.

Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said on Saturday that Reddish’s status won’t be determined until game-time, which is scheduled for 5:05 p.m. ET on Sunday. Krzeyski said Reddish is dealing with a knee injury similar to tendonitis and isn’t structural. So he isn’t dealing with a sprained ACL or MCL or something like that.

Yahoo’s Pete Thamel spoke with Reddish on Saturday after Coach K relayed Reddish will be a game-time call and the freshmen said he’s dealt with knee issues since the first game with North Carolina and he’s done a lot of treatment with the hopes of playing on Sunday. Reddish, however, remained unsure if he’ll be able to play through the ailment.

Duke advanced to the Elite Eight with a two-point win vs. Virginia Tech after the Hokies missed a shot at the rim that would have forced overtime. Reddish was officially ruled out at halftime of the Hokies game.

Had Reddish been able to suit up and play, Duke might not have been in a tight finish. If Reddish is unable to go vs. Michigan State, the Blue Devils will continue to do what they’ve done all year, feed Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett.

The dynamic freshman duo has put Duke on their shoulders all year and will be counted on having big performances with or without Reddish. The same goes for point guard Tre Jones who had a strong showing vs. Virginia Tech in Reddish’s absence.

An official announcement on Reddish’s status is expected within an hour of tip on Sunday afternoon.

Reddish averaged 13.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2 assists while averaging 29.5 minutes per game.
