We have been waiting for a game that contained all of the March Madness staples, and Virginia and Purdue finally delivered the game we deserved.

Who would have believed that the Virginia/Purdue nightcap to kickstart the Elite 8 would be the game that we were all craving?

It was drama from start to finish, and we only have heavy hearts for the Purdue Boilermakers, who came within seconds of going to their first Final Four since 1980. Instead, thanks to a bizarre pass from Purdue Superman Carson Edwards, the Virginia Cavaliers are going to their first Final Four since 1984.

Make no doubt about it, the Virginia/Purdue matchup was an instant March Madness classic. It was the battle that was waged with everything each player on the court had, and we finally, finally got the buzzer-beater we have all been anxiously waiting for in the Tournament.

With such a thrilling contest, you know that Twitter was on fire, with fans from both teams, and UMBC, giving their own commentary on the events that transpired in Louisville. We went through and curated the best tweets of the night, and, trust us, these are, indeed, the best tweets of the night.

Grab some popcorn and enjoy.

(Well played, UMBC, well played)

(Awesome that Carson set the record, but as the old saying goes, it doesn’t mean a thing without a ring.)

(It’s not really a celebration in Charlottesville. It’s more like relief.)

(We totally missed this moment! How did we miss this?? #Respect)

(Might be? I would be inclined to say that this was the best game of all-time!)
