3. Trish Stratus

This year, for the first time ever, women are in the main event of WrestleMania, as Ronda Rousey defends the Raw Women’s Championship against SmackDown  Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. But well before the women’s revolution in WWE, there was a roster of underappreciated women who did absolutely everything they could to earn the respect of the WWE Universe.

Trish Stratus, among others, were at the forefront of this. She put in the work of doing as much as she could to make women’s wrestling as respected as the men. But the fact that the WWE referred to its women’s division as “Divas” and were given short, gimmicky matches on television didn’t help the cause.

Stratus and Lita main-evented Monday Night Raw at a time when it was unheard of for the women to get that spot. Unfortunately, Stratus and Lita never got the opportunity to show the world what they could do on the WrestleMania stage, let alone in the main event.

While Stratus had some fantastic matches on the show of shows, she was never considered for a main-event position at the time due to the era she wrestled in. If Stratus was in her prime right now, she very well could be be main-eventing WrestleMania alongside the women who are doing it this Sunday.
