1. Drew Lock

There’s no question the Dolphins desperately need to find their quarterback of the future soon. It’s unlikely they’ll do it in free agency, so it really boils down to what draft Miami wants to use to fill the position.

If Lock is still on the board at No. 13 it’s going to give the Dolphins a huge decision to make. One line of thinking for Miami would be to wait until the 2020 Draft. Unless they really outperform expectations this season, the organization should be armed with a higher pick.

Lock’s level of talent should prove too tempting to put the pick off another season. He isn’t ready to step right in and play Week 1, but the Dolphins don’t need that. Their coaching staff can afford to take the time to clean up the footwork issues that negatively impact his accuracy at the moment. If they can fix those issues, Lock could emerge to be a terrific starter.

After all, he’s got good mobility and arm strength. His great plays are as good as anyone in this class, it’s just his lack of consistency that’s probably going to push him down outside the top five.

In the end, expect the Dolphins to end Lock’s draft slide if he makes it this far. He’d give them a talented signal caller to build their offense around in the future.
