Welcome to NHL DFS Man Advantage for Wednesday night April 3rd! Tonight is a very small 3 game slate, so on nights like this I will generally just break down each game and give you my favorite plays. Out of the 6 teams tonight only Calgary and St. Louis are heading to the playoffs and both are different scenarios as well. Calgary has everything locked up, so there is a chance they rest some guys as they did on Monday night. As for St. Louis they are still vying for play off positioning where they could win the Central or end up in 3rd place, so you know all there top guys will be in the lineup. As for the other 4 teams it will behoove us to check the lines on DailyFaceoff.com today in the afternoon and Twitter to see if there any changes to the lineups.

Tonight’s NHL DFS Schedule:

Ottawa @ NY Rangers

Projected Goal Total: 6.5

St. Louis @ Chicago

Projected Goal Total: 6

Calgary @ Anaheim

Projected Goal Total: 5.5

NHL DFS: Ottawa @ NY Rangers

Goalies:

I don’t really think I am interested in playing either goalie in this contest, but if I had to I would go with Henrik Lundqvist ($8,000) if he starts. Because of his price though he is probably a fade for me. As for  Anders Nilsson ($7,200), he is not on my radar even at his low price. Nilsson has lost 2 straight starts allowing 9 goals in those 2 games two other horrible teams in Florida and Vancouver.

Defense:

Thomas Chabot ($5,400) is the best play on defense in this game, by far. In his last 6 games Chabot has 5 assists, but has been held scoreless in the last 2. Chabot plays on the top D pair with Dylan DeMelo and is also on the top PP unit and sees over 24 minutes per game. Also consider Christian Wolanin ($3,300) and Cody Ceci ($4,300) for some savings since both of these guys play PP minutes for the Sens.

For NY, there are only 3 defensemen in play and all 3 play power play minutes with Kevin Shattenkirk ($4,300) playing on the top unit and Anthony DeAngelo ($4,400) and Brady Skjei ($3,900) play together on the second PP. Shattenkirk has the most ability of the three but hasn’t produced much of late, so Skjei would be the play for me tonight with 1 goal and 3 assists in his last ten, and 2 assists and 7 SOG and 7 blocked shots in his last 4.

Line Stacks:

I am not really interested in any single line from Ottawa, though the 4th line with Anthony Duclair ($4,100)  is intriguing from a value standpoint, but otherwise it’s the Sens top PP unit that I would want to use. I like taking Chabot with Brady Tkachuk ($5,600) and Colin White ($3,500). White has been hot with 3 assists in his last 3 and is a nice cheap piece to add with the high-priced Tkachuk and Chabot.

For the Rangers, I am playing their top line if I choose to use them. They are a semi expensive stack, but in this game can be very lucrative. Ryan Strome ($3,500) is a nice value piece to go with Mika Zibanejad ($6,700) and Chris Kreider ($5,800).

NHL DFS: St. Louis @ Chicago

Goalies:

Jordan Binnigton ($8,100) is my favorite goalie tonight against a Blackhawk team that has seemed to lose their scoring touch. Chicago has lost 6 of their last 8 and has only scored more 2 goals 2 times during that stretch. As for Chicago’s netminder, I have no interest in whoever starts there.

Defense:

Two guys standout from this game on defense, Erik Gustafsson ($6,000) and Alex Pietrangelo ($5,800). I prefer Pietrangelo since I plan on rostering Binnington and don’t necessarily need to take anyone against him. If you need value on defense, Michael Del Zotto ($3,000), who somehow is still relevant at this point. Del Zotto has 3 assists in his last 4 games and is averaging a little over 2 DKFP per game.

Line Stacks:

St. Louis’ top PP unit is where I want to go when it comes to stacking the Blues, and I do plan on going there. When you stack St. Louis, the obvious place to start is with Vladimir Tarasenko ($7,300). After you lock Tarasenko in you can go to Ryan O’Reilly ($7,000) or Brayden Schenn ($5,000), depending on how your salary looks and if you want to pay up for the Flames.

In the case of the Blackhawks, I am interested in their 3rd line actually with Patrick Kane ($7,700), Alex DeBrincat ($6,500), and Artem Anisimov ($4,000). Obviously Patrick Kane is still Patrick Kane, but Anisimov has a decent stretch going with 1 goal and 2 assists in his last 5 games and is averaging just about 19 minutes per game and is centering the second PP unit.

ANAHEIM, CA – NOVEMBER 07: Mark Giordano #5 of the Calgary Flames and Jakob Silfverberg #33 of the Anaheim Ducks skate to a loos puck during the first period of a game at Honda Center on November 7, 2018 in Anaheim, California. (Photo by Sean M. Haffey/Getty Images)

NHL DFS: Calgary @ Anaheim

Goalies:

For GPP’s I would consider John Gibson ($7,100), especially if any of the top line guys for Calgary sits out the game. David Rittich or Mike Smith ($8,300) are great options against the leagues 31st ranked scoring offense.

Defensemen:

Calgary rested Mark Giordano ($6,500) against Los Angeles on Monday night, but there is a chance he plays tonight. We will just need to check later in the day to see who is in for the Flames. I prefer to pay down tonight for Rasmus Andersson ($3,500) who has assists in 3 straight games for the Flames and has been averaging 2 minutes more than his season average over his last 10 games. For Anaheim it is really just Cam Fowler ($4,100) or Hampus Lindholm ($3,800) that are worth using on defense.

Line Stacks:

I don’t really need to tell who the best line to play for Calgary is, but I will. If the entire top line plays for the Flames they are the play, but we will have to wait and see what happens after morning skate for the Flames.

I am not looking to stack the Ducks tonight, but if I was to play any of their forwards it would probably be Rickard Rakell ($6,100) and Jacob Silfverberg ($4,800). Rakell has 7 goals and an assist in his last 5 games, and Silfverberg has 1 goal and 5 assists in the same span.
