NFL Draft 2019: Tampa Bay Buccaneers full mock draft
By Joe Romano
Round 3 – Pick 70
Mecole Hardman, WR, Georgia
The Buccaneers went from one of the deepest collections of pass catchers in the NFL to a unit that could use an upgrade. Losing DeSean Jackson and Adam Humphries in the same offseason will do that. Luckily the team planned ahead and have Chris Godwin waiting in the wings to be Mike Evans running mate. However, grabbing a receiver in this loaded class would be a wise investment.
Mecole Hardman of Georgia can come in and be the immediate replacement for Jackson. Hardman is a dynamic player with the ball in his hands and one of the fastest players in the class. He needs work on his routes but he is no slouch in the nuances of the receiver position. His production in college was lacking but the same can be said for basically every Georgia offensive player, that is just how that offense was run with a lot of mouths feed.
No only is Hardman an electric receiver but he offers versatility as a player that can be used on bubble screens or in the RPO quick hitting game. He also can be a Jackson replacement on punt and kickoff returns to find his place on the field early in his career. With Bruce Arians coming in and installing a vertical offense, players with speed are important and that is what Hardman brings. A trio of him, Evans and Godwin give Jameis Winston or whoever the 2020 quarterback is plenty of weapons at their disposal.
