Everything you need to know to prepare for you the final edition of WWE NXT before NXT Takeover: New York this Friday on the WWE Network.

DISCLAIMER: WWE NXT is a pre-taped wrestling program, and results of the show have already hit the internet ahead of time. We will not be spoiling those results here at FanSided; thanks for reading.

It all comes down to this, the final edition of WWE NXT before the black and yellow brand heads to Brooklyn on Friday night at the Barclays Center for NXT Takeover: New York. The event will not only kick off WrestleMania weekend, it also has the potential to steal the entire weekend before the main reason for its existence even gets underway.

A five-match card, with every single match having a title on the line means there isn’t a more important event happening this weekend. But before we get to Friday we must go through Wednesday. What will happen at Full Sail prior to Takeover?

Date: Wednesday, April 3rd, 2019
Time: 8:00 pm EST
Location: Orlando, Florida
Venue: Full Sail University
Live Stream: WWE Network

The rumors are running rampant over the last several days due to marketing for Takeover that the women’s fatal four-way for Shayna Baszler’s championship will be contested in a ladder match. Although this has yet to be confirmed, by the end of this week’s show we should know if this marketing holds any water or not.

Ladder matches have become a staple for WWE over WrestleMania weekend for the last decade or two and with no match at WrestleMania on Sunday currently having a ladder involved this seems like a match that could be announced on Wednesday night.

While not much is known about what to expect on NXT this week, we do know the following matches are scheduled to take place:

  • Kairi Sane goes one-on-one with Bianca Belair
  • The War Raiders have a warm-up match ahead of Takeover
  • Oney Lorcan (the newest member of the 205 Live roster) will face Jaxson Ryker

With Takeover just days away it’s hard to think that this isn’t a must-see edition of WWE NXT. Will any other Takeover opponents besides Sane and Belair face off with one another before Friday, or will NXT General Manager William Regal keep everyone separated to protect his event? Are you excited about the final edition of NXT before Takeover? Sound off in the comments below.
