2. Shot opportunities

While the Thunder are sixth in the NBA in pace, they still take more shot attempts than any other team in the league. This is primarily attributable to their league-leading 12.4 offensive rebounds per game, many of which are contributed by Steven Adams on a nightly basis. This does not fully make up for their below average shooting percentages, but it’s a good way to close the gap at least a little bit. Obviously, a major part of winning in the playoffs is successfully getting the ball in the hoop and the Thunder having more chances to do that than their opponents is something that may help them separate themselves from others in close games throughout the postseason.
