The Masters are one of the most exciting sporting events of the year for golf and fantasy fans alike.

The Masters is the most anticipated golf tournament of the year. Due to that, there are going to be a lot of new players trying their hand at DFS golf. The million dollar payday at the top of the 20 dollar buy-in Millionaire Maker tournament on DraftKings also doesn’t hurt. Tiger Woods is always a factor too. Since Tiger has been playing so well, I expect there to be even more people looking to jump in and win.

The Masters is played at Augusta National Golf Club. It is a par 72 course, 7,435 yards with bentgrass greens.

It is important to note that these greens are typically some of the fastest on tour. Also, the wind can become a major factor. So, when you are creating lineups you are going to want to keep a close eye on those reports as you get closer to Thursday.

Course history seems to play a larger role here than almost any other tournament as well. Players like Jordan Spieth and Bubba Watson seem to play well here no matter what form they are coming in with.

Additionally, a first timer has not won this tournament since Fuzzy Zoeller in 1970. Therefore, I will not be including any of them in my lineups. That is not to say they can’t perform well, but their upside is limited.

Here are some of the key stats I am looking at:

  • Strokes gained: tee-to-green (SG:T2G)
  • Strokes gained: ball striking (SG:BS)
  • Strokes gained: approach (SG:APP)
  • Strokes gained: around the green (SG:ARG)
  • Greens in regulation gained (GIR gained)
  • Driving distance

For this tournament I am really going to focus on players who have been gaining strokes tee-to-green. I want a player whose overall game is in good form. I will be putting a good emphasis on driving distance as well though. These fairways tend to be pretty wide and easier to hit, so the players that can really get it out there off the tee may have the slight advantage over the shorter hitters.

Here are some of the players I am targeting in each price range.
